City Council clears over 6 billion FCFA loan to rebuild the market

During an extraordinary session of the Bamenda City Council in March 2024, senior councillors approved over 6 billion FCFA for the reconstruction of Bamenda Main Market, partly destroyed by the February fire. The decision empowered the City Mayor, Paul Achobong, to engage the loan facility from FEICOM, the special council support fund, so that rebuilding of the burnt section could be planned rather than left to individual traders.
